Other information: In 1959, Bakrie & Brothers established a steel pipe plant “TALANG TIRTA”. At that time, the pipe factory was able to produce just 3000 tons / month of conduit pipe up to 1.25" in diameter.

In 1972, plant capacity was increased to 25,000 tons / month, with the potential to prdoduce pipe diameters up to 4".

In 1978 Bakrie again expanded plant capacity, allowing production of API 5L specification oil and gas industry pipe up to 6 5/8 inch in diameter, API certification being awarded in 1979. DNV (Det Norske Veritas) certifiction for offshore pipe was obtained in 2005. Nowadays, PT Bakrie Pipe Industries has a design capacity of up to 310.000 tons per annum, producing welded pipe in diameters to 24 inches.

Today, Bakrie products mainly include oil & gas pipeline, water linepipe, piling pipe, telephone pole pipe, electrical pole, and structural pipe for general construction and offshore structures. Hot dip galvanised and colour coated steel pipe are produced also, as are rectangular and square hollow sections.
